M.A. Seetha The Central Committee of the Mandayam Srivaishnava Sabha meets regularly on every third Tuesday of the month at the office premises or at Yathiraja Mutt premises. Adivellikelamai function was celebrated on 10-8-2001 Under the initiative of the Cultural Sub-Committee Chairperson & Vice President of the Sabha Smt. Radha Murthy, Smt Vijaya Ramaprasad & others at Yathiraja Mutt, Sampige Road, Malleswaram, Bangalore. The programme was well attended by ladies of the Community. All of them lit Pachcha mavu Villakku and sang in chorus the Tiruppavai. Sri. BhuvarahaSwamighal gave a religious discourse. The function was followed by Prasada Viniyogam. The function was sponsored partly by Sri. Y.G. Narasimhan and MSV Sabha. On 28.10.2001, Modal-Alwargal namana was held under the auspices of MSVS
In connection with Childrens Day Celebration (Competitions for Boys and Girls below 15 years) various Events were held. On 4-11-2001, Sunday at Yathiraja Mutt premises Healthy Baby Show was conducted under which 7 babies participated. Simultaneously, On the SPOT PAINTING and CREATIVE TALENTS were conducted. In each of the above events about 65 children participated. In CREATIVE TALENTS children below 6 years modeled Clay Lamps. Children from 7 years to 15 years modeled clay Elephants. The Meet was a feast to the eyes and there was a festive mood all around. The Events were over represented beyond the expectation of the Sabha. It was an experience of sorts.. On the same day all the members also participated in the Tirunakshatram of the present Pontiff Sri Sri Srimath Paramahamsa Parivrajakacharya SRI SRI SRI Yadugiri Sampath Kumara Jeeyar Swamigal (4 Nov. 2001) at the Mutt premises and had prasadam of the Acharya. On 11-11-2001 at the premises of Chamundi Scouts, West Park Road, 13th Cross, Malleswaram, Sports and Field Events were held from 1.30 p.m. onwards. Many children and members of the Community participated. Many prizes for the events were sponsored by Vijaya Ramprasad, Radha Murthy, Indira Parthasarthy and Vedavalli. Following events were conducted with the supervision of the members mentioned below:
Cultural Programme in the evening was held on 17/11/20001 at Gokhale Hall, 11th cross Malleswaram Bangalore, which consisted of Fancy Dress, Laxmi pooja, Tableau, Patriotic songs, laxmi pooja songs, Folk songs, Bharathanatyam & prize distribution by the president. This was followed by prasada viniyogam. About 250 community members attended. In connection with Aane pandigai on 02/12/2001, one-day trip was undertaken by 50 members of the community (self financed trip). The places visited were Jathavara, Rangasthala, Minikanagurke, and finally elephant idols immersion was done at Srinivasagara tank. Joint secretary M.A Ramprasad & M R Krishna took initiative in arranging the transport & food for the participants. Members also took an active part in the Navaratri Mahotsavam conducted by Sri Yadugiri Yathiraja mutt during 17/10/2001 to 26/10/2001 at Sri Yadugiri Yathiraja mutt premises. Sri M.B. Nagarajan, member of the Sabha on a tour to USA is on additional Mission to enroll N R Is Mandayam community members to the Sabha. The sub-committee on Mysore property and development along with some patrons. Visited Mysore hostel and Jayalaxmipuram site and had discussions with community Members at Mysore on 08.12.2001.The meeting was chaired by M D Ramanuja President of the Sabha. The hospitality was hosted by Smt.& Sri.M.A Srinivasan and Transportation by M.A. Ramprasad. Joint secretary of the Sabha Sri Ramapriyan from Australia S/o Smt.Malathi Singlachar, who has created "The Mandayam "web site, visited the Sabha office and participated in the meeting of the Sabha. He suggested many useful proposals for bringing more publicity abroad to the Sabha and activities of the Sri Yadugiri Yathiraja mutt. All the members of the central committee and the president conveyed their appreciation to sri. Ramapriyan.for his work. Now the MSVS is actively processing application forms for Financial Aid to needy, merited students and community members. The Sabha is also working on updating, upgrading Membership and enrolling new members.

Sri Sri Ramanujamuni Jeeyar Swami Centenary Celebrations 13th to 15th July 2001 Sri Sri Yadugiri Yathiraja Narayana Ramanuja Jeeyar Swami (Sri Ramanujamuni) occupied the Yathiraja Mutt as its Preceptor between 20 December 1970 and 10 May 1979. This mutt has had the illustrious Parampara of Yathis, starting with Sri Ramanujachar himself in 11th century. Sri Ramanuja Muni Swami offered his entire life to the service of Lord Thirunarayana, at the temple Town of Melkote. Giving service to mankind was his motto and he served the needy to the best of his abilities. He took immense pleasure in offering delicious preparations to the Lord and also in feeding devotees with Prasadam. He was the leading torch bearer in Goshtis particularly for Prabandha Parayanam in the Temple Town. He was an exemplary Acharya of Yathiraja Mutt, serving the needs of all his disciples. The Birth Centenary of such an illustrious Jeeyar Swami, was celebrated in a befitting manner at the functions held simultaneously in Bangalore and Melkote, for three days ending on Sunday, 15 July 2001. This year, at Thondanur, where Sri Acharya Ramanuja, worshipped Nambi Narayana, the Divya Rathotsva of Nambi Narayana falls on Saturday, May 5, 2001. Sri Thyagaraja and Sri Purandara Dasa Aradhana Mahotsava 2001: The Aradhana was celebrated in a grand manner, on Sunday, the 4 March 2001, at Sri Ramanuja Sanskriti Bhavana, Yathiraja Mutt Buildings. Malleswaram. The Utsava was Presided over by Mrs. Rama Srinivasan. A music competition was held for children, on this day at 11 AM. The following were the prize winners in the competition. First Prize: Ms.M.D.Shubha, daughter of Mr. M.D. Jayasimha. Second Prize: Mr.Raghuram, son of Mr. R.A.Rajagopal Special Prize: Ms.Kanchi, daughter of Mrs.Neela Ramanujam. The main program commenced at 3PM, and the following senior artistes from our community rendered Thyagaraja and Purandara Dasa Kritis in great style. 1. Mrs. Sarswathy Parthasarathy, 2. The main event of the day was the Goshtigana of Pancharatna Kritis, of Sri Thyagaraja, led by P.Rama and Neela Ramanujam. This was followed by Bhartanatyam Dance program by Ms. Chitra Srisailan, grand daughter ofMr. M.K.Yathirajan. The Aradhana was attended by about 350 people and food like Kadamabam Dadhiyodhanam, Sweet and Khara Boondi, was served to all. The Sabha thanked the volunteers, M.S.Narasimhan, M.P.Sampath M.C.Sampathkumaran, M.T.ramanujam,Vijaya ramprasad, Jaya T.Char and Vaidehi Murali, for their selfless service in distributing the pamphlets and assisting the Committe Members on the day of the function, with Mementos.
